Japan is enduring a disaster that puts our minds into cardiac arrest. Not only did they have an earthquake, a tsunami but they are now facing the fear of a radioactive disaster. What if this three fold catastrophe happened here in the United States…..how would you react to such lack of control over your life and the life of your family?
I have asked myself this questions many times as I watch in horror at the humanitarian tragedy going on in Japan. The devastation is incomprehensible. My heart weeps for the Japanese people and at the same time I admire their strength and calmness.
Now Rush Limbaugh rides in on his lily white horse with words of insane wisdom.
Mr. Limbaugh had the audacity to laugh.…yes laugh at the Japanese people for recycling during this devastating time. The Japanese people are trying to find normalcy under extreme, unbelievable circumstances. They are taking responsibility for the environment that is left to them……they are thinking Mr. Limbaugh!
I ask you Mr. Limbaugh….what would you do during such a disaster? Run? Demand special treatment because of who you think you are? Urinate in your pants? Blame everyone in your path?…..what would you do? Would you help? Offer positive advice? Lend a hand to someone who had fallen or needed food?
Why, you ask, does his laughter bother me enough to write about it in my blog? Rush Limbaugh’s words and actions are actually revered by many people. He gushes about his intelligence, reminds people how wonderful he is and then spins his thoughts into believed truth. It bothers me he acts as if he is the speaker for the American people. It bothers me his heart is so small and empty yet he has a large following of souls.
Just think what Mr. Limbaugh could accomplish if he were more than his self imposed inflated ego of importance?
America is full of generous, compassionate and kind people. May our voices always be stronger and louder than those who are so insecure they must laugh at those who are struggling to survive.
