Hi guys! We are already in June …does time seem to be going faster for you these days? My grandson Keegan just graduated Valedictorian from High School last week……gees, he was little a couple weeks ago!
Time is like your art…..time continues yet you still see yourself as you were not necessarily as you are.
If this is happening to you it is time to change gears. What do I mean by changing gears? Perhaps one way is to do something totally different than you normally do. Such as….if you know my art you know I have a style in abstraction as well as doing animal portraits. It is a style I love but thought perhaps I needed to shake up my energy a bit.
Here is what I decided to do.
I grew up on a farm and I love, love, love cows. Why? Because they are soulful. Here is an image of how I painted a commission of a cow (actually, it was a commission to do six black, black Angus cows….definitely needed a glass of wine after finishing six black, black cows!!!) It is the same style I do my abstracts.
Here are a few images of the new style. Loose, playful, colorful and really fun. They are fun to look at and they were a blast to paint.
This caused my brain to work different. I gave myself permission to use colors indiscriminately and have the paint be thick instead of my normal thin layering technique.
