Have you got a pile of books you intend to read as soon as you can find the time in your busy schedule? Me too. Guess that’s the up side to being sidelined from surgery…I’ve got time to catch up on my reading between physical therapy sessions.
If you haven’t read Brene’ Brown’s Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead, put it on your reading list. Maybe it’s because I’m having a current encounter with vulnerability as I struggle to regain my strength, mobility and independence following surgery but it seems like this powerful book has come to me at exactly the right time to tell me things I know but need to be reminded of again.
It also rings true when I think about the vulnerability we need to be willing to embrace as artists if we are to reach our full creative potential.
It’s a fascinating book full of insights into human nature and why we behave the way we do. Check it out and let me know what you’re reading too. There’s always room on my shelves for another great book!
