Blogging for Artists

February 6, 2015 | 0 comments

If you’re serious about making your art your business, you need to blog.

If you think that blogging is at odds with your creative vision, or are intimidated about getting started, remember that old ways and outdated notions won’t open new doors for you!

A blog is a simple and easy-to-use platform to use for connecting with people and sharing timely information with potential customers. It’s the single most direct connection you can have. Your blog can fuel SEO – those search engines that love good content. They automatically spread the word about your business and reward you for your efforts. Even the technologically-challenged will find it easy– stay tuned for directions on how to set up your blog in a future newsletter.

Through your blog you’ll have a place to talk about your art, and share information beyond your website. It’s where your personality can shine, and is fodder for other social media sites. A blog can highlight your expertise while creating a conversation and encouraging interaction and feedback.

Blogging will sharpen your business focus, and invite potential clients to look to you as a reliable resource. Your blog tells your personal art story, and is the best place to offer insight into your work, philosophy, and ideas. Tell your customers exactly why you’re in business and how you can help them!

Every blog post that you publish is really a long-term investment in helping you promote your art. Your readers will learn to view you as a reliable resource in the art world.

Blogging can be fun! Keep it focused to attract more interest, and be sure to respond to all comments. Create a schedule and stick to it – start with once each month – to continue delivering purposeful, engaging content.
