Taos is finally getting some much needed rain. The trees and newborn flowers seem to be smiling. Evenings are still cool so having a fire in the kiva fireplace is very comforting.
Questions About Workshops
I have been getting questions about my workshops in Taos and what they are like.
Here is a short video taken during the Abstracts That Glow Workshop. Check it out and see what you think.
Some of your questions are:
Are your workshops a safe place to come and create when you haven’t painted for a long time?
Yes, the workshops are a very safe place to reconnect with your creativity. One of the things I insist on in all my workshops is everyone is safe from judgment. This is key to having a successful workshop.
Will I be embarrassed if I am not able to create something wonderful?
Creating something wonderful isn’t what workshops are about….they are for you to experiment, try new techniques, colors and designs…it is a place to grow. Besides you will get to meet artists from all over the world who are as interesting as you.
I have never been to Taos…is it difficult to find a place to stay?
Taos is a wonderful place to enjoy. Creativity literally floats in the air. Many great creative minds have come to Taos just to immerse themselves in the creative energy that Taos provides. As for a place to stay…there are numerous wonderful places but I also have a list of recommendations to make your stay worry free.
I have never painted with acrylics before.
Never worked with acrylics? No problem. Actually you can work in any medium you wish but since most people will be flying to Taos I demo in acrylics and recommend acrylics due to the ease of transporting their paintings home.
This year’s workshops will be held in my personal studio. It should be fun to experience so much energy and love in one place.
Be sure and watch the video and see if it spurs your interest to come and immerse yourself in the spirit of creativity.
