The sun is shining in Taos and the trees are showing their new green… such an exciting time of the year.
Just got back from Vegas where I stayed at The Venetian… more about that below.
The How to be a Highly Successful Artist Coaching Program is in full swing with some exciting artists signed up. It starts the 19th of this month. If you are questioning whether this is for you just email me and let’s talk. I don’t want you to miss out on an opportunity to grow your art and your art business… plus have fun while doing so.
I went to Vegas for a two and a half day meeting with a group I have been part of since January… Todd Herman’s 90 Day Year Program.
A little bird told me not to go but you know how it is when you really want to be part of an event you–disregard that feeling in your gut. Bet you have been there… right?
I didn’t realize the casinos would be filled with smoke… not that I planned on gambling but getting to our meeting room required a walk through the casino. To make a long story short… I had to leave the day after I arrived, as I was so sick from the smoke.
Why am I relating this story in an art newsletter? Because the same thing happens everyday in our studio… we don’t listen to our gut.
How many times have you faced your painting wondering what to do next… how to make it different… how to give it that special spark?
Our gut says to do one thing but our mind and our fear screams… ”Don’t do anything that might ruin the painting!”
Listening to the painting and our gut is essential in creating paintings that are unique. Actually, the key is getting out of your mind when painting. Painting is an inside job so it requires you to trust your feelings.
Next time you are fearful about “ruining the painting” just go inside your body and ask yourself if red is what you need… go for it… use red, or blue, or yellow… a painting has never been ruined by listening to your gut.
