It has been a while since I did a “Letters from Gwen” and I have missed touching base with you.
The weather is hot here in Taos and my flower garden is now in full bloom.
I dug up the garden this Spring and put in all new soil, worked it in and then replanted my plants. It was a lot of work but the garden needed some TLC.
I have also been working on some Cold Wax and Collage pieces.
Cold Wax and Collage is such a great combination as it is so forgiving it gives you permission to make a lot of mistakes.
This painting is done on a 30 x 30 cradled board. I love working on the cradle boards as I don’t have to worry about framing plus they have a different feel than canvas or paper….this is a good thing for me as I get bored when creating on the same surface over and over.
How about you? Do you like to change things around and paint on different surfaces?
Post below and let me know!
By the way, I will be doing two LIVE workshops this September and October. I am so excited as it will feel so good to be able to be with others IN PERSON rather than on zoom. Don’t get me wrong….I love working on zoom but I am ready for some live action.
The workshop/retreats will be limited to 7 artists so if you are interested just go to my artist retreats page and read all about them. If you have any questions just email me.
I will be writing more about these workshops in another email.
See you next week. Stay safe and paint up a storm this week!!!
