This is not the usual newsletter you get from me every Thursday. Today is different because of Raven, my new 15 week old male German Shepherd puppy. It is his ears that cause one to smile and smile and smile! One day they are up and the next day they are sideways…nothing like putting a smile on my face every day.
As you can see from his picture he is cute and that is probably the only thing keeping him alive at the moment. Chewing everything in site has caused some issues.
Example of this would be Raven found a bottle of Golden Fluid Acrylic…Phthalo Turquoise …of course he had to select the most staining color ever! He has beautiful turquoise teeth and I am glad they are just baby teeth.
So, with this said I am going to blame him for not having the time or energy to write a proper newsletter. (and quite frankly it doesn’t faze him a bit to be used as the culprit.)
Actually, puppies have a lot to teach us as artists.
Here are a few “Puppy Lessons”
Puppies have unending curiosity.
Puppies enjoy the journey.
Puppies fall a LOT.
Falling is part of life and puppies don’t take it personally …they just get up and try again.
Puppies live in the moment.
Puppies look at life as one big adventure.
Puppies love to learn.
At the end of the day they rest, dream and never think about who said that nasty thing to them.
It is their innocence and resilience that connect our souls.
Take a couple of these puppy lessons and apply them to your art life.
Bet your colors will become brighter and the painting that failed to birth into its projected greatness will be gracefully set aside to be viewed and perhaps repainted another day.
Remember, You are the lucky one. You see what others may never take the time to see or feel.
Art opens images of the world, which have been seen by the eyes of to the artist’s soul…
creating a new world to love….this is what you do.
