First of all, thank you so much for your comments about my last newsletter….I loved it! How did I get so lucky as to have you part of my wonderful group of artists?
This week we are dealing with the Principles of Design.
The Principles of Design are considered the foundation of your painting and it is good to know each one, so your painting starts on a sound footing.
The Principles of Design are…
Movement
Rhythm
Unity
Balance
Emphasis
Contrast
And Pattern
In the video I share with you that I question whether Pattern should be in the Principle category but rather the Elements category. Considering the fact that the Elements are more the fun things, or the fluff, as I like to call them….and Principles are more structural I really feel that Pattern could be in either category.
Actually, it doesn’t matter which category you place it in just know it is something you need to be very aware of and use it to your best interest.
Check out the video as it will refresh what you may or may not know. I know when I did the research, it solidified the knowledge I already had and refreshed what I had forgotten.
